FIN GUARD SILVER

Energy Conservations Systems For Heat Exchangers

The FIN GUARD energy conservation system for heat exchangers is based on a special heat conductive coating (technique), achieving a long lasting nominal performance, guaranteed. The coating systems can be applied before assembly of the machine, before installation or even years after installation. The heat exchanging surface of the fin package determines the cooling capacity and consequently energy consumption. By preventing the deterioration of the heat exchanging surface, FIN GUARD Coating systems meet the requirements as energy conservation systems.
Only a combination of accelerated test determines the performance of the coating system at practical exposure conditions.

Marine by ASTM B-117: This salt spray test shows no defects after 10,000 hours - reflecting ten years extension of life time in real life at the sea side.

Urban by ASTM B-278: City life causes acid rain, FIN GUARD Silver shows no defects after 3,000 hours reflecting nine years of exposure to an urban climate.

Industrial by DIN 50018 or Kesternich test: Hundred and twenty cycles equivalent to ten years of heavy polluted sulphuric air have been proven success of FIN GUARD Silver.

Tropical area by Ozone exposure - temperature changes- humidity: FIN GUARD Silver was exposed in a humid cabinet to Ozone and extreme temperature fluctuations. By succeeding FIN GUARD Silver proves to be able to cope with tropical weather conditions.

Dust and dirt by DIN 40046: Very limited dust adhesion was found compared to regular aluminum surfaces.

    Chemical Resistance:

FIN GUARD withstands almost all chemical vapor exposure conditions. As a guideline, the Maximum Acceptable Concentration or MAC value is the exposure condition limit of the FIN GUARD coating system. If the MAC values are exceeded, THERMOGUARD should be consulted. A resistance list is available upon request.

    Corrosion Resistance:

FIN GUARD has a high corrosion resistance level:

    • ASTM B-117 +10,000 hours marine environment
    • ASTM B-287 +3,000 hours industrial environment
    • Kesternich test 120 cycles sulphuric environment (fuel combustion)
    Special Properties:
    • Long lasting nominal performance
    • Heat conductive
    • High chemical resistance
    • UV resistance
    • No bridging
    • No pressure drop
    • No influence on K value
    Application Exposure Conditions:
    • Highly populated areas with a lot of traffic
    • Coastal areas
    • Off shore
    • Rural areas
    • Electricity plants
    • Mining
    • Other aggressive industrial areas
    Application:

The FIN GUARD coating system is a high tech spray application utilizing high-pressure air carrier techniques. The system starts with a conversion layer, DIAMOND ZX, which reacts with aluminum forming a chemical bond and the first level in corrosion protection. This conversion layer creates an excellent mechanical bonding base for the top layer. FIN GUARD creates a durable heat conductive layer. Energy consumption will remain at the nominal input.
